Quinn's Artpalooza
my weird portfolio site, meant to feel like a push pin wall of everything I am
in lieu of building this website, I started to save items I would usually put in the trash as well as things I have around my room (old birthday cards, a passport photo, New Paltz police department card, etc).
here are only some of the things I collected:
I have them saved for future secret website business
user personas
the purpose of user personas is to help the designer figure out who their intended audience will be and how you might structure your website to fit both of your needs.
I selected two user personas relevant to the design industry. The purpose of my site is to showcase my work to potential employers. By considering their perspectives, I can better determine what content and features will be most impactful.
site map
This is an overview of my portfolio website's sections, outlining the content and purpose of each. The homepage will feature a corkboard-style update area, while "Other Stuff" includes casual creative works. "About Me" provides my background, and the Photography and Graphic Design sections showcase my projects in a scrapbook-like layout, highlighting my skills and process.
wireframe sketches
Here I am sketching out my initial ideas of the design. I wanted it to feel like a push pin board and kind of chaotic. Quite a few of these beginning ideas followed through to the end.
design mockups
This is a mockup designed in Figma, where I experimented with different arrangements for the content of my site. It helped me explore various layout options and determine the best structure for showcasing my work effectively and fun.
final designs
Here is the "final" design for now. There are still a few things I want to add and tweak with but so far it is coming along. This was my first time actually coding any project, I would say it was an enjoyable and difficult ride :)
